National Beekeeping & Honey Mission (NBHM)

NBHM is a Rs 500 crore central sector scheme launched in 2020 under the Atmanirbhar Bharat package to power India's "Sweet Revolution" — more scientific beekeeping, better honey quality, and higher incomes for beekeepers. It is implemented by the National Bee Board (NBB) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and runs through 2025-26. The mission works through three "Mini Missions": production and productivity (MM-1), post-harvest management, processing, and market support (MM-2), and research and technology (MM-3).

  3. Individual beekeepers usually join through a society, FPO, or state project rather than applying alone; contact your district horticulture office or the National Bee Board.
