Horticulture and allied schemes
For growers of fruits, vegetables, spices, flowers, and plantation crops — and for beekeepers — the Centre runs two main programmes under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. Both are delivered through state departments, so the district horticulture office is usually your first stop. Subsidy percentages are fixed centrally, but exact amounts follow official "cost norms" that get updated, so always confirm current figures before investing.
- Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) — 35-50% assistance for orchards, vegetables, polyhouses, nurseries, and cold-chain infrastructure via State Horticulture Missions.
- National Beekeeping & Honey Mission (NBHM) — Rs 500 crore "Sweet Revolution" mission: beekeeper training, colonies and processing infrastructure through projects, plus the Madhukranti traceability portal.
